Everybody seems like doing something creative in their social distancing. They cook a new recipe, reading more books, write, doing work-out, meeting online, spend more time with the family, or even caring for their plants. I love the positivity! Just like everyone else I was quite influenced by the inside-the-house activities and the famous dalgona coffee ha-ha. Anyway, I did not make any dalgona coffee so far. I was surely spending more time reading my novels and more time in the kitchen than I used to be.

As a student who for seven years living in a student apartment, I became a lazy person when it comes to cooking and making some food. In Yogyakarta, unlike Europe, it is cheaper to buy your food than to cook. So this has brought down my cooking skills he-he. In this post, I will share some kinds of beverages I made in a very instant and easy way. However, instead of buying bottled drinks in the supermarket or a café, I spend more time in the kitchen to make my beverage a little bit more different.

There is nothing special, I searched through the internet and look at what was my refrigerator provide. I do not especially use a recipe but just put everything there and using my instinct to measure how much ingredients I need. There are four techniques that I like to share here.

(1) Lemograss tea (2) Dragon fruit milk (3) Java Coffee (4) Dates milkshake

1. Lemongrass tea

Who doesn’t love the lemongrass aroma? It is very special and they use it in many kinds of food and beverages. I can also make it as a tea without the black tea. To make the lemongrass tea It’s easy-peasy. Based on what you feel right using, boil some lemongrass with water. When it is still boiling you can put a bit of sugar!

2. Dragon fruit Milk

For this beverage, you need slices of dragon fruits, condensed milk, and fresh milk. Firstly, put the slices of the fruit and the condensed milk (if you don’t like sweets, but only a little bit of it because condensed milk is sugar ha-ha) on a pan. Cook it with very low heat so the dragon fruit can mix well with the milk. If it’s already mixing well put it in your glass and pour some fresh milk. If you want your milk to be warm put the fresh milk into the pan too. If you prefer it cold, put down the fruit to cool down before you mix it with viola your dragon fruit milk is ready!

3. Java Coffee

Well, in the coffee shop they call it like this when they used palm sugar in their coffee. I use palm sugar, Nescafé classic which everybody loves, and fresh milk. I love to drink my coffee cold so I just boil a bit of water to mix the palm sugar and the instant coffee. After it mixed well, I put lots of ice cubes in my glass above the coffee and pour fresh milk afterward. It is a very nice drink in the hot noon while you are working with your computer!

4. Dates Milkshakes

Dates equal sugar ha-ha. To make this one I need three pieces of dates only to make my milkshake very sweet. First of all, separate the dates from the seed. After that, you just need to blend it with ice cubes and milk… then… finish!
